New iMac Range Released - Apple has announced updates to the all-in-one iMac line with the latest Intel Core 2 Duo processors and the most powerful graphics ever available in an iMac. With prices now starting at just $1,549 inc GST, iMac includes faster processors with 6MB L2 cache and a faster 1066 MHz front-side bus across the entire line, and 2GB of memory standard on the better and best models.

The 24-inch iMac now offers a 3.06 GHz Intel processor and the high-performance NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GS graphics as options, extending iMac's lead as the ultimate all-in-one desktop computer for both consumers and professionals.

Updated MacBook and MacBook Pro Released

Updated MacBook and MacBook Pro - Apple has today announced updates to the MacBook and MacBook Pro notebook lines at new, even lower price points. The update includes the latest Intel Core 2 Duo processors, larger hard drives and 2GB of memory standard in most models.

In addition, MacBook Pro includes the latest NVIDIA graphics processors, now with up to 512MB of video memory, and Apple’s innovative Multi-Touch trackpad, first introduced in MacBook Air.

Replacement for the Xserve RAID - Apple has recently announced the replacement for the Xserve RAID which is a third-party product called Vtrak from the company Promise.

The Vtrak offers SATA/SAS support, 4GB/s fibre channel ports, both common requests on the Xserve RAID product and is at a lower price per GB with faster performance (2x-3x). The Promise Vtrak series is already being sold by Promise in their own channels. However, Apple will be offering 3 specific Vtrak E-class configs that have been certified and qualified for use with Mac OS X, Mac OS X Server, Xsan 2 and Final Cut Studio 2. These configs are exclusive to Apple and have been customised down to the firmware.

The Promise Vtrak E-class has the following features:
• 3U rack-optimized enclosure with 16 hot-swappable drive bays
• Dual redundant active/active controllers 2GB DDR ECC cache per controller
• 4Gb/s Fibre Channel ports (2 per controller)
• Up to sixteen 750GB (12TB capacity) SATA hard drives or sixteen 300GB (4.8TB) SAS 15K rpm hard drives(pre-installed and tested)
• RAID Levels 0, 1, 1E, 5, 6, 10, 50, and 60 External SAS port (1 per controller) for storage expansion using the Promise VTrak expansion chassis (for a total of 32 hard drives)
• WebPAM PROe web-based management interface Qualified with Mac OS X, Mac OS X Server, and Xsan 2; Apple MPIO capable

Brand New MacBook Air - Apple has today introduced the new Mac book Air, Ultra thin, ultra portable and ultra unlike anything else. Featuring a 13.3-inch widescreen LED backlit display that delivers 1280-by-800 resolution , an illuminated, full-size keyboard, a new multi-touch trackpad that allows you to zoom, rotate, and scroll with a flick or a pinch of the trackpad. This gesture-based input, so successful on iPhone and iPod touch, has been adapted for the MacBook Air.

An other innovative feature is, Remote Disc, that allows you to access the DVD or CD drive of a nearby Mac or Windows PC. It's perfect for installing software and retrieving files. The MacBook Air is just 1.9cm thin and weighs only 1.36 Kg, MacBook Air sets new standards for ultra- portable computing -without the usual ultra-portable compromises.

There is one standard configuration available but many options are available through configure to order for example a solid state hard drive for great performance and battery life.

New Time Capsule - Introducing Time Capsule, a wireless hard drive that works seamlessly with Time Machine in Mac OS X Leopard. It's also a full-featured 802.11n Wi-Fi base station.
